Director of Membership
and Membership Services
The NCA is a collaborative environment with a relatively small staff where teamwork is valued.
Responsibilities
Serve as a member of the association’s senior leadership team
Attend and represent the Membership Department in executive staff meetings about all aspects of the association and its management.
Formulate, develop, and implement NCA’s policy agenda with direction from and in collaboration with executive director. Supervise development of policy relevant to member recruitment, engagement, and retention and any other issues or concerns related to membership.
Establish membership strategies aligned with organizational goals to drive organizational results and key performance indicators.
Collaborate with Legislative Assembly about membership participation and other member-related issues.
Collaborate in organizing the annual meeting.
Lead NCA Membership and Membership Services
Develop Membership and Membership Services operational performance metrics.
Establish direction and oversee all aspects and relations with members.
Set direction and provide conceptualization, development, administration, and marketing of NCA’s initiatives to retain and increase members, including annual renewals.
Manage all communication with members including queries from members and NCA in-house member newsletters.
Manage staff and conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations.
Manage departmental operating budget and annual work plan.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Communication or related field.
At least five years of progressively responsible experience in membership services or related department with a nonprofit organization or membership association.
Superior/excellent writing and editing skills, including the ability to research and synthesize information into content that meets members’ needs and aligns with NCA’s strategic objectives.
Experience in developing and executing an organization-level strategic plan.
Ability to effectively employ electronic and social media in outreach to members.
Ability to collaborate in a team.
Demonstrated customer service orientation with strong communications skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and a willingness to critique and improve current practices.
Ability to carefully consider diverse perspectives.
Evidence of strong leadership and initiative.
Demonstrated commitment to inclusion, diversity, equity, and access through marketing and communications.

Work Mode
The NCA operates in a hybrid work mode, three days in the office, two days at telework. The work mode is regularly reviewed to meet the evolving needs of the association. Such review may necessitate changing a position’s mode of work designation.
